The 31st Trick-or-Treater
The 31st Trick-or-Treater by Ben Farthing was intended to be read as a Halloween advent, one chapter a day - passing as if in real time, and, as such, it was very effective. Each day raised the tension, and it was hard not to keep reading into the next chapter. This seemed to explode as a sub-genre in 2025, and this was one of the best I read. I hope to see more like this from Ben in the future.
