Him (2025)

MOVIE 47 - 2025 Edition of 100 Horror Movies in 92 Days

Since watching The Bad News Bears as a kid, I’ve been a fan of sports movies. They tend to have some element of an underdog or overcoming obstacles - not that different from some horror movies - of which I’m obviously a fan. And Jordan Peele has made some of the best horror of the last 10 years.

Him does not rank with those.

It was beautifully filmed and had some interesting visuals, but the plot and message just got lost for me. Moments that were meant to impart any kind of tension or emotion were unearned and just fell flat.

This seems like a classic case of what Paul Hollywood on Bake-Off would call “style over substance”.
