Villains (2019)

Villains opens with Bill Skarsgård and Maika Monroe’s Mickey and Jules robbing a gas station, but it’s clear within minutes they are not actually the title characters. They run out of gas on a deserted stretch of road almost immediately. When they decide to steal a car from a nearby house, they find a little girl chained in the basement instead, and we learn pretty quickly who the title characters are.

Enter the under-appreciated Jeffrey Donovan (bring back Burn Notice) and Kyra Sedgwick (bring back The Closer) as the homeowners George and Gloria. 

Mickey and Jules try to do what they think is the right thing and rescue George and Gloria’s daughter, which turns out to be an even bigger mistake than not getting gas before robbing the gas station. 

Villains has some horror and some humor, it’s a little bit weird, there’s a strangely creepy garden gnome, and overall, it’s a fun watch.
