Pater Noster and the Mission of Light

Though it’s tempting to penalize this film for the traumatic flashback to my indie bookstore days, I loved it too much to do so.

My collector heart loved the set-up (though this is the kind of film that gives people false hope that they’ll find that diamond in the thrift store). It just goes off the rails when Max leads the friends to the commune in part to search for the very-rare, supposedly cursed 5th album from the cult.

This film is like Empire Records and The Wicker Man did some LSD while Ruth Gordon watched and had a messed-up baby. In the best way.
