This is a great example of the danger of reducing a book to tropes. If you had pitched a YA, fake dating, hockey romance to me, it would be a hard pass.
Firekeeper’s Daughter is that, but what made it stand out to me was the peek inside the lives of indigenous people in modern America, their traditions as well as the prejudices they still face.
