Starling House

I grew up in a town just like Eden in the same part of the country. We even had a haunted mansion on a small, dead-end road called (not making this up) Cliffs of Ghostrock Lane. So, this makes me more forgiving of seemingly overwrought language and behavior of locals - perhaps because it's only a slight exaggeration of reality. I would have liked it more if the horror were turned up a notch or two and the romance turned - either way a notch or two - as it was, it was tepid and uninteresting. Overall, it was a fun, easy read.
