The Editing

“This movie is for you,” John von Kubrik, maybe the estranged grandson of Stanley Kubrick, says directly to camera in an interview about the film within the film.

I love a film about making a film, the whole meta thing. The Editing was ridiculous (in a good way mostly) and a good reminder of how terrible group projects are.

John disappears with all the footage of his new film, and two producers, Larry and Boris, who borrowed from the Yakuza to get it made track him down to get it. Instead, they find a lookalike with a mustache and a truly bizarre Southern accent claiming that he is not John von Kubrik, but a doctor (who decries traditional medicine) called Teddy Sweetlove. And it goes on like that for another hour until the end.

The film within a film sounds insane, but I’m into the creation of the ACU (Armageddon Cinematic Universe). It just seems appropriate for the times.
